i'd like to comment just a bit on it.
i have no problems with asians or whites or blacks or hispanics or whatever. sometimes when i think of asians, the only race that comes to mind are those who are Chinese who are from China. and i don't have anything against these people.
i think when i talk about some races i might tend to sound a bit biased? yeah. like Taylors College is seriously a second China. it's like Chinatown in China during Chinese New Year.
90% of the people are from China and i get frustrated sometimes because you think when youre in australia you will be in a more multicultural society.
i think im an attitude-ist. (no such word but whatever)
im so FOR those chinese who come to australia to better their english and all that but what pisses me off is that instead of practising it, they talk chinese all the time. and thats what i dont like.
its Australia so speak English. if you want to speak Chinese all the time then i suggest you go back to China? i mean whats the point of coming to Australia to better your English if you keep speaking chinese all the time. (yeah to get better education and bla bla but why not speak english anyway?)
i was having dinner the other evening with a group of chinese friends and they know i cant understand chinese but through out the WHOLE ENTIRE meal they ONLY spoke Chinese. THE WHOLE TIME. everyone on the table spoke chinese and laughed and everything with each other while i just sat there to try and understand a few words just to feel involved. and that is what pisses me off.
a reason why i chose to study in Australia was that i felt that i was being supressed back in kl in what way i have no idea but i just felt that way. like i couldnt be understood and i had to get out of the whole conservativeness thing. BUT I LOVE MALAYSIA DONT GET ME WRONG.
and when i come here and feel even more supressed and misunderstood, that just sucks.
i am totally okay with every race and i dont feel that some race are better than others. i just have a problem with the attitude of some people.
i might not be typing comprehensibly and thats cuz its 4 am here.
anyways, i also wanna say that i appreciate those asians who speak english to me altho theyre not good at it but at least they try. i really dont mind as long as i understand what youre saying and i can respond.
i guess thats why i dont have like heaps of friends here coz i mostly hang out with Aussies, Singaporeans, Malaysians and these make up only a few of the population of the college.
if anyone wants to say anything regarding whatever ive said please tell me on msn and dont keep it or bitch about it somewhere else coz im open to whatever opinion anyone has.
omg shit my grammar and everything sucks coz ive not written since forever. ahh who caress. heh.
